You might be feeling famished after your workout and tempted to splurge on a hefty meal. But instead of downing large amounts of unwanted fat and sugar, you might opt to satisfy those post workout cravings with healthier options. Since your muscles are depleted of amino acids after a workout, you need an adequate supply of protein to help build them up, making yogurt and fresh berries a good snack of choice. Low-fat yogurt can pack nearly 15 grams of protein; while berries provide carbohydrate-driven energy.

Chocolate - the lesser known health miracle
You need not feel guilty the next time you indulge in a bar of chocolate. Multiple studies and research have concluded that chocolate actually has a multitude of health benefits. One study found that people eating chocolate were 22 percent less likely to suffer a stroke than those who didn't. On top of that, chocolate may prevent memory decline while a study published in The Journal of Nutrition indicates that chocolate consumption may support cardiovascular health by lowering cholesterol and improving blood pressure.
So do indulge in your fave choc bar, but as with everything, moderation is the key!
On top of that, keep your fitness level at its optimum by working out.
A Tasty Health Booster
As avid coffee drinkers ourselves at Motiv8, we couldn't emphasise enough on its benefits. Multiple studies and research have proven that drinking coffee could lower your risk for Alzheimer's and Type 2 Diabetes, prevent Parkinson's as well as lower your risk of mouth and throat cancer.
Moreover, a Spanish study showed that athletes burned 15 per cent more calories for three hours after exercise than those who were given a placebo. That having said, this doesn't call for a caffeine overdose. As with anything, don't go overboard. Anything more than 4 or 5 cups just might bring on restlessness and insomnia. Other than that, we'd say, go ahead and indulge in your favorite cuppa! Just a note to go easy on the sugar, or even better, skip it.
